Re: my guilty pleasure
I'm trying to Pierre! He is in hospital having had his hip done, so am waiting for him to recover. Ahhh that explains why he wasn't sailing last weekend. His boat is in great condition and he has always done well in it. I had a go in it a couple of years ago. Splendid piece of kit. BTW... It's park...

Re: How they used to sail at Shoreham
1137 would be 1976. There is a useful list on the Osprey website.... Graham They lied to me !!!!! Must dig out the emails I printed off. There was some useful info regarding who the original owner was etc etc... from a guy who had sailed with him in it. This cam via the Osprey peeps. Anyhow, it's n...

Re: And for all those sailing N12's in 1955
For a long time I've thought we should have more period dress at CVRDA events, but every time I've tried it some bore suggests I should be wearing a buoyancy aid! I empathise...nothing wrong with shorts and shirtsleeves, especially in this weather. Just need a long red woolly bobble hat for when th...

Re: How they used to sail at Shoreham
I always lurk Rog. My Osprey was built by Westerly in 1973 I am told, so I think I'm OK there..... As a little aside... purely serendipity.. but I found myself on the train with our Club commodore going up to London Bridge last week... he is a laser and RS200 sailor.. but confessed to perhap...

And for all those sailing N12's in 1955
I wouldn't be at all surprised to hear
that all of the boats racing in this film
are owned by CVRDA members.
Essential head gear fashions being displayed
and I was particularly impressed with the R.O.
shooting the winner at the end.

How they used to sail at Shoreham
You all may have seen this clip before
but, some old bits of timber and cotton
seen here splashing around Shoreham,
probably when I was a very young lad.....
No, just checked, I wasn't even born...it was taken in 1953

Re: weight limit on a trapeze wire!!!
Errrmmm ... I hope he won't mind me saying this,
but forum member "FDGorilla" is likely the
biggest thing you will see sailing and used to crew
FD's .... he is getting on for 7ft tall and not light
He would break many things, but trapezes and masts
were not amongst the casualties.
