And Andy has just proved the point: The Moth at Weston has been there ages and in all probability will go the way of so many others - like the Int Canoe that was mentioned earlier. The fact that the owner is known/aware just makes it harder I'm not sure of Weston SC boatpound charges but I'd expect ...

Another suggestion /idea! An open area that's designated for 'seen at' photo's! This comes from the responses to a comment I made at the weekend after seeing a Moth left lonely and forelorn in a dinghy park. In ones' travels one often see's boats just 'left' and falling into ruin - even if they're o...

More on Moths....... I was down at Weston Sailing Club (Southampton Water) today for their Warm Up event and there in the elephants graveyard is a complete moth..... by eye maybe a Duflos. It's still in one piece but fading fast by the look of it, a sad end for what was once a fast competitive boat....

One things for sure, this is definitely not a Harrier! The 'arse end' of it is very much along the lines of the Spencer/Gregory Cherubs and the tortured ply construction suggests it comes from that era. Without exact dimensions it's hard to be 'definite', if it's 10' then it could be an early exampl...

As you say Peter Milnes boats always seemed to have a sparkle (well, maybe not the Skipper 14 but there's always an exception to the rule) and the Vulcan was a brave attempt to attract the 'older 'dinghy sailor. Lovely lines to the hull, from ahead one could see something of the Mirror 14/Marauder a...

Sorry for getting you a bit lost there!! fro 'Front and back' I was referring to the very individual roles played by the helmsman (sorry again, very non PC, helmsperson) and the crew. All too often the man at the back stands there and shouts, curses and otherwise throws the toys out of the boat whil...

Hi there! Re your question on spinnaker setting and the difficulties of 'gettig it right', you don't specify if you're looking at the problem from the front or the back of the boat. So many times when the spinni exercises it's will to snarl up and knot itself around anything and everything it's ofte...
