I would suggest you try the boat as it is initially then try the centre jammer, it really is a case of personal preference.I am now using the centre jammer and prefer it but i know people who do not.If it makes a diference Ben Ainslie uses the centre jammer and he seems to do ok!!

If your Finn is almost ready why not bring it along to Roadford one weekend we are not far from you, there are now Three finns sailing here.I am also intending to do the Nationals as is Alan Harris from Fowey. It would help you to come along and have a tune up sesion give me a call if you need a hand.

I can reccommend this boat, it is in time warp condition and also very fast as it was quicker than the Devotis downwind at a Graffham training day earlier this year when sailed by one of the hotshots.

The Elvestrom hull which you have was originally fitted with a rubber moulding for the rubbing strip. It is no longer available as someone else was looking for the same earlier this year on the BFA website. He was advised to have a strip or strips made up from hardwood by using a router and glueing an...

Hi pegasus welcome to the strange set up of the Finn. I am just completing the refit of my early Vanguard and was surprised at how much info is out there for this sort of thing on the various National Finn websites. The Germans have a separate site for classic finns and the following address should t...

Guys, I am in the process or prepping my Vanguard Finn for paint. Topsides have previously been painted, but now back to bare gel/grp and undersides are virgin gelcoat. What would you recommend for the ultimate finish, single or two pack? and how should the wetted area be left, shiny or the old sati...
