Firefly looking for new home

I have a Fairey Firefly in sailable condition, Mk1/2 I think. Used it last year at Alton Water, Shearwater and Banbury, but needs paint and varnish and possibly some TLC. All complete and ready to sail with trolley and cover but no trailer. If anyone is interested in making an offer let me know. Don...

Curved transom mainsheet track for Fairey 14

Still trying to find a curved main sheet track for Maelstrom. I've tried bending a straight stainless one and an aluminium one but no luck. Does anyone have any ideas? Or perhaps an old track that woould fit?

Re: Covers for wooden boats

Hi Nessa, same as you mine lives in the garage most of the time but I have a traditional cotton cover which I think is recommended fir wooden boats. Don't know if it's better than a plastic one or not, I'm sure someone will be able to advise. I bought my new JB cover from Mark at Waveloft, made to m...

Re: Pegasus 98

Hi Adrian, surprised that there haven't been many replies to your post as the Pegasus was one of the reasons this association was formed as I understand. I have 2 Pegasus's one good and one not so good. I know there are at least two more owned by members and one has just been sold on ebay for around...

Re: Sleepless nights

Hi Nessa, same as Chris I have scratched my shiny 14, that's almost inevitable, but have very much enjoyed sailing last year, even though we tipped it in a couple of times (Chris is right about the side decks or lack of them!) I will be bringing Maelstrom to hunts so we can compare notes, hopefully ...

Re: Banbury?

A great day despite the weather (or lack of it!). I think a lot of us learnt some stuff about light weather sailing.... Many, many thanks to Pat and Tim for organising a superb event, the food and the jazz band were out of this world.... Good to see old friends there and some new ones, hope we can g...

Re: Free Pegasus dinghy

Hi there, the deck needs stripping and varnish and the rubbing strips need replacing. It has been stored outside for a number of years with a cover but there is a fair amount of work needed. It is near Colchester. The trailer is ok and I have found a couple of good wheels. If you are still intereste...

Free Pegasus dinghy

If anyone would like to take on my old Pegasus I would be happy to give it free. It is a composite construction, the hull is sound but the deck needs attention. Complete with mast, boom, rudder/tiller and centreboard but no sails. On a trailer which is roadworthy but not sure about the tyres, no tro...

Re: 'classic' I 14 on the bay

Hi Robin, glad to see it has gone to a good home. McCutcheon built about 100 boats, yours is quite special I think, it is listed in the International 14 Dingy Book 1928 to 1989. I have K680 and will be collecting John's other boat the Kirby 7 this week. Let me know if I can help with any information...

Re: CVRDA 15th National Rally, Clywedog SC, 23-25 August

Thanks to Clywedog for another great weekend (I'm sure they didn't organise the rain!), great club, great food and great CVRDA company as usual. My thanks to Keith and team for organising, to Pat and Sandy for their warm friendship and to Ian for his time and perseverance with my sailing and thanks ...
