Re: 1948 International 14 restoration ethics.
Every owner must make their own decision of course, but we must be careful that we do not place boats - or designers for that matter - on a pedestal of perfection. People used what they had at the time and Uffa would be the first to mix epoxy which does not necessarily mean that it should be used in...

Fear not, the red pen is fine and I have now concerns about bandits.
I would like to reply further but I am sure it would be off topic and I know that is not allowed so we must not misbehave

Re: A question
So while I was waiting at the top of the gangway in a Cowes Marina on a windless day while crewing in a Swan European Champs, two esteemed owners met close by and the conversation ran: First: I say, anything happening at the Squadron? Second: No, nothing only a few crews hanging around making the pl...

Re: Enterprise dimension
Hi, there is no guarantee that any measurement someone could give you would match the way you boat was built. Just a small point, Bow stickers and paint and varnish generally don't mix very well.

Don't worry Dave, we never bothered with Finn's in Brightlingsea, to far to pull them at low water and two hulls or a plank were so much better

Re: Power tools
You get what you pay for at the end of the day and you have to decide what you are trying to achieve before you start buying. If everything is to be painted then the finish of most sanders will be ok. If you want to varnish then the thousands of little circles left by cheaper ordinary sanders is an ...
