I think it is 'beef bourgignon' on the menu (if that's how you spell it) rather than chile!

We have couple of spare beds available if anyone wants an overnight place.

They certainly look good - better than any modern alternatives - for a vintage boat. They work! (but ...

I've just scanned a page from Ian Proctors book on dinghy maintenance ('50's style!). I'll email you garry. Sheet rubber can be obtained free from any car tyre fitters - they'll give you as many old inner tubes as you want. They have many uses when cut into strips. I used this on 507 about 15 years ...

Looking for an early merlin rudder ( afixed one if we're being particular but a lifting one would be very useful).

Failing that I'll make one but need the bronze gudgen and pintle for it.

Any help much appreciated.

Garry it would have been good to meet up at Banbury but as It's the day of my daughter's wedding I doubt if I can think up a good enough excuse.
Went last year - well worth the trip. I hope to go to most of the other vint. merlin events though.

I've quickly put some photos of merlin 36 on http://www.barlowharps.demon.co.uk/page6.html if you want to see what my problems are! Bearing in mind that this boat may only see water for a few hours a month in summertimeo I think the use of some epxy may be the only way without renewing so much. The ...

Clear penetrating epoxy sealer (CPES) see
http://www.rotdoctor.com/boat/02sealer.html
Says it stays flexible and penetrates deep.
Anyone tried it? or know a UK supplier

(Sorry, I started this topic on the For Sale section)

Thanks Al, I'm told that the difference between this stuff and thinning ordinary epoxy to help penetration is that thinned epoxy will still form a hard un-stretchy mass. CPES will apparently stay supply and slightly elastic which is what sounds so good about it for a clinker/ribbed hull. We are havi...
