Re: tempo scow

I'm almost certain this is the same boat, as Crapstone is local (half hours drive) to Roadford, or it could be a rare coincidence.

Re: Lifting Finn rudder needed

Jonathan, it is sometimes posible to convert your fixed blade into a lifting one by obtaining a suitable stock and cutting your blade to fit. You need to find one that has sufficient depth to it to allow the tiller to clear the deck whilst the blade is fully in the water. I have one that I use which...

Re: tempo scow

I think that your Tempo and the one on the Roadford noticeboard maybe one and the same as the owner mentioned that it was his father inlaws when he sailed it here. I will check the notice board again and confirm. From memory I believe he said it had been home built.

Re: Authentic Anti slip?

The stuff Alan is talking about is different to Progrip in that it is very light in weight hence the new Finns are using it. but there is nothing wrong with Progrip or Treadmaster there's only about the weight of a couple of pies difference....

Re: Pearson Finn

Welcome, and hopefully we can coax you into racing with us when your boat is completed. There are a couple of Fairey boats undergoing restorations at the moment so you are certainly not alone. Whereabouts are you based? as it nice to know where the classic Finns are, and do you know the identity of ...

Re: Pearson Finn for sale

Do you know the sail number for this one and I can probably date it for you. I will let the Roadford crowd know this one is available.

Re: Authentic Anti slip?

On advice, I used the same method mentioned by Jim on the FD sidedecks where the crews feet need a good grip when on the wire, but with granulated sugar , we found it to be very durable without ripping the seat out our of your pants when hiking. It also looks better in the varnish as it does not dul...

Re: Hornet sails

This is the Dinghy Show held at Alexander Palace on the weekend of 5/6th March. Google RYA Volvo Dinghy Show for details. It is as far as a lot of us are concerned well worth a visit.

Re: Enterprise and FD bits

Twenty three feet sounds about right for the FD as it overhangs by only about three feet when towing, but if you need an exact measurement I can get it for you as I have a couple in the rack in the garden.

Re: Early Int. Moth info.

I had BM250 and agree with David that it did not suit the short cop of the Solent at all,I changed it for a Nervous Breakdown IM with collar unstayed mast and that was a different story altogether when I could keep the rig in the air, which made the name of the design very apt especially downwind on...
