The Brian Willis book is one of the best. The RYA also publish a small ring bound book of the real basics which is great. Peter Cook from Y&Y is still alive and kicking. The cvrda were able to purchase his entire collection of Y&Y for Falmouth Maritime Museum earliesr this year

I accept what you say about a meeting between east and west but the Island will be very expensive with the ferry and I don't suggest sailing across the Solent these days.
