Re: Tricorn on e-bay
I spent the night of the Fastnet disaster attempting to sleep on board my Tricorn, firmly attached to a relatively sheltered mooring in Chichester Harbour having decided the anchor wasn't going to hold.............a good decision, as I spent the whole night peering out of the hatchway watching a Hea...

Re: prodder problem
That reminds me......I'm sure the prodder on my Magnum 8 was adjustable......sort of telescopic, like an old spreader cut in half and the pointed end poked inside the larger end with holes drilled and a pin or two dropped through in appropriate holes for adjustment........if it wasn't like that then...

Re: Early Int. Moth info.
Nessa, I think I've just PMd you.........I say "think", as it's sitting in my outbox, and when I looked in the outbox I found a message I sent to someone else ages ago sitting there too..........does it rely on the recipient collecting the message before it registers as a sent message? Let...

Re: Early Int. Moth info.
Nessa Sorry for delay, been away for a while, and unfortunately nothing useful to add to ID 3769..........I have a few year books ('87, '88, '89) and I tried to work it out from photos and by the age of the sail number and which model was current at that time.....but none of the photos show enough d...

Re: Early Int. Moth info.
Nessa,
Do you know the sail number for this Moth? I may be able to take an educated guess at which mark of Magnum it is from info I have here if it helps.

Re: Early Int. Moth info.
David,
Have you shown the guys-in-charge-of-inches this thread? Or at least told them how much interest there is (one has to protect one's scources, after all ) I'm sure it would help increase your inches........(surely it's metric by now tho?)

Re: Early Int. Moth info.
Hmmm, Brave move Nessa......if you can get that going you can chalk a big point up for the girls! :D I looked at it on ebay as well.....(I really must re-set my ebay searches to exclude such madness, the ToY was extreme enough for my light weight :D ) .....but I've run out of room until I sell some ...

Re: What is this?
They didn't sail particularly well as far as I remember......it is a Swallow.....I had one in the 70s and it used to get stuck in irons easily......typical boat of it's era, a bit like a Flying Saucer (which I also owned). Interesting, but not very exciting I'm afraid.
