Re: OK

Thanks for the tip and demo Kev. Like a lot of things, easy when you know how. Slim, if you have'nt got washing up bowls in your OK, what have you got?. Just holes? And are'nt there not two but three, two on the forward bulkhead and one on the rear into the transom tank? Now Kev has shown us how, po...

Re: OK

Hello Slim Sounds like you've got an elderly OK that has large holes in the cockpit bulkheads that were once plugged with washing up bowls on shock cord? Barton do fairly large screw in inspection hatches but the usual way of getting over this one is to make up some ply discs (or other matching shap...

Re: ok, solo, thoughts please

Nessa, have your checked the quoted sail number of this OK on the boat data base on http://www.okdinghy.co.uk ?. This strange as it's "grp throughout " on the data base. Could be cheap. On the other hand, there are plenty of the all grp Seamark Nunn built boats still around and many in soun...

Re: Transum traveler do they have a name, looks correct?

Doh, got the wrong image in my simple mind when i posted to you. Now i understand. Had this system on my Graduate many many years ago. Works fine. You might find stoppers at each end of the top flat section will prevent the lower block going off around the bend (as in one of the pics and Rupert sugg...

Re: Selling our camper

I've gone all modern too. Having sold my faithful aircooled bay of 1978, I have just bought a 1981 VW LT28 conversion. Seriously Rodger, campers here are generally more expensive and as it's LHD have you thought of listing it on French ebay? Does'nt have a huge following but http://www.leboncoin.fr ...

Re: Swimmers

Spot on Michael. I've really taken to the French angle on health and safety etc etc. We are all treated like adults. As for places to swim, well take your pick. Mines the Med off a 2+km stretch of naturist beach. Surely it's still too cold in Blighty for swimming even with cloths on or has something...

Re: rudder was it off then?

Sorry for the delay. The measurements that will help identify your blade will be these, I think. Blade width 300mm +/- 5 Radius of the round bottom "edge" 150mm. And from the top end of the staight part of the leading edge(just below stock) down to a right angle line from the bottom tip of...

Re: OK over on the bay

Interesting one. I do'nt think it's your usual grp Seamark Nunn. Do me for a laugh on really windy days but the logistics involved!! There should be a sail number engraved somewhere in the cockpit,ie on the bulkhead, hog or centreboard case. The UK class has fairly good records and a boat data base ...

Re: rudder was it off then?

It's an 30 Degree OK rudder, I'm 99.9% sure. I will dig out the class measurements later this evening and post them here, then you can see if it matches. Bingo!

Re: Clwedog Event 25-27th May

So what's the camper Chris? Should that be MYFANVW? Aircools have huge a fan? After 15yrs, I sold my VW Bus in Nov 2011 when I had'nt a clue how things would pan out here. Mistake!! I'm now on the look out for small camper at the moment. Older French van conversions seem to range from bizzarre to cr...
