I think you are right. That shape of the first few feet from the bow is very telling.

Re: Vintage film
Chris Absolutely lovely, glorious stuff. And some important boats too, Int.14 #201 was Uffa Fox's Daring, but difficult to see if it was him sailing it. #250 was Sir John Beale's Sea Serpent, and it could well have been him as well. #287 was built in 1933, so must have been brand new. Beautiful Nick...

Re: Pendle Witch and the Cascamite Clock
As Stephen says, the boat was picked up today, and has gone to a new home.
Many thanks to all those who expressed interest, I hope they will be able to see the boat on the water again in due course.
Kind regards

Does this sum up the CVRDA ??
Letter to a men's helpline............ I really need your advice on a serious problem. I have suspected for some time that my wife has been cheating on me. The usual signs: if the phone rings and I answer, the caller hangs up. She goes out with the girls a lot. I try to stay awake to look out for he...

Re: National 12 - Starfish design
Don't have any pictures I'm afraid, but I did have a look today. Hull seems very sound, and all rigging in good condition. The decks, however, would have to be replaced, tho' they could at a pinch be used as is, though some attention to nail heads would be necessary. Trolley and cover(s) seem OK. Ni...

Re: Introductions
Nick here, currently owner of Int.14 839 -Janine, a McCutcheon built Shdi design. Owned several CVRDA type Finns before, including K60, a beautiful Fairey boat, probably the only boat I sincerely regret selling. Have organised a number of CVRDA events at Frensham Pond, which were very well attended ...

National 12 - Starfish design
Well, not exactly for sale, more like free. Charles Smith, who helped me organise the CVRDA events at Frensham Pond has decided to dispose of his National 12. "Pendle Witch" is a Mike Noakes Starfish, a very pretty boat, which needs a little in the way of refurbishment, though Charles tell...

I'm by no means an expert, but I'm sure I've seen Eleven Plus's with strip plank side decking. These were built up on and end and middle frames from both top and bottom. meeting in the middle.

Re: Vintage 14 Mast dimensions...
Jim, here are a few measurements from my Shdi, #839. They are a little arbitrary as the mast neither sits on the floor nor on the deck, but is suspended somewhere halfway between on a longitudinal deck-bridge joining the main bulkhead and the centreboard case. As best as I can measure, then, from th...

Re: Ian Proctor, Merlin Rockets and the Tempest
...........mind you, the picture of the TR towing the Int.110 takes me back a bit. My mate and I owned a Dragon between us in the 70's. We kept it at Roa Island in the summer, and Windermere in the winter. Jack towed it back and forth behind his MGB. Not all that far from Barrow to Windermere but it...
