Re: 18th/19th July Thames Sailing Club
It's also believed that 'Vagabond', the boat pictured above, was also fitted with the prototype sliding seat. Incidentally Vagabond celebrated it's centenary last year and will be sailing as part of the vintage Rater fleet in the Vintage Regatta. Unfortunately David Henshall is unable to repeat his ...

Re: 18th/19th July Thames Sailing Club
Couple of updates for you. The band has been booked for the evening - if you like it bluesy you'll like this bunch (go to http://www.thebluedevils.co.uk/biography.html for more details). So far we currently have confirmation of 8 boats that intend to compete though interestingly none are CVRDA regul...

18th/19th July Thames Sailing Club
I'd like to add my thanks to the team from Bough Beech for a great day on Saturday - what a lovely venue and the RO team did a great job to cope with the constantly shifting winds! The next CVRDA event is at Thames Sailing Club on the 18th/19th July. Full details including NOR, entry forms, costs, p...

That would appear to kick him into touch as Raters are 26ft in length. I couldn't find any reference to maximum length. Where did you see that Garry?

Re: Bough Beech SC - Saturday 27th June
I mentioned to Martin Hunter, who campaigns 'Spindrift' a Thames 'A' Rater in Handicap events all over the country, that I was planning to attend the CVRDA event at Bough Beeches with my Albacore. He wants to bring a Rater! He would bring either Spindrift or Lady Iona. They are GRP (the wooden Rater...

Re: Bough Beech SC - Saturday 27th June
I am planning to attend with my Albacore (providing I can find crew) and hoping to get a couple of other crews from TSC along with me. Off topic a bit but can somebody hand me a copy of Sailwave with all the CVRDA handicap info loaded on or the current handicap list at Bough Beeches in readiness for...

CVRDA 2009 Calendar in Classic Boats Magazine
Just to let you all know that the latest edition of Classic Boats Magazine has a promotion of this year's CVRDA 'premier' events in their events listings. Not just that but we have our own break-out box within the listings, that mentions that it is the CVRDA's 10th anniversay year. Also a picture fr...

Re: Baltic Wharf
I was trying to put a 'warm' spin just in case my crew might decide to read this! Perhaps we can agree that conditions will be crisp and bracing.

Re: Baltic Wharf
Hoping to be there in my Albacore all the way from London town providing weather is OK. Currently Windfinder seems to be suggesting max wind speed approx 10 knots and cloudy with sunny spells. Sounds perfect!

ACB
I had an enquiry from a chap who thought the boat looked like the Alb that his dad used to sail. Unfortunately when I checked the numbers they didn't correspond. So his search goes on and meanwhile this boat is still available.
Are you still interested?

Fairey Hulled Albacore for Restoration for £100
I bought this boat in the condition that you see it in now http://www.thamessailingclub.co.uk/CobraManagedFiles/Winter_Project.pdf with the intention of finishing the restoration and preparing it as a lighter weight boat than the Albacore that I currently sail. Becoming a Dad has put pay to that pla...
