I have just won an ebay auction for a launching trolley for my FD and was wondering if anyone out there is able to help me get it from the Blackpool area to the southwest. I'm clutching at straws, but thought I would enquire on the forum before venturing to the frozen wastes of the north.Obviously I...

I think Superdocious was responsible for a lot of peoples enthusiasm for dinghy sailing and led me to run a very battered Tiptree in the mid '70s which my brother and I turned into a lookalike. This boat is not the original from '68 which now resides in the Maritime Museum in Falmouth, but is the th...

Count me in on this one, I think Windermere should be big enough for GBR 350 (Superdocious) which like Neil's Fifteen is starting to swallow cash, hopefully I should have sorted out all the pieces of string by then.

Not a CVRDA event but for anyone who is thinking about a Finn or needs convincing that they need one, the British Finn Assoc is holding a training day which incorporates a 'try a Finn' session for any one who is interested. I can thoroughly reccommend the event as I did one last season at Grafham an...

This looks like a very nice boat, and one of the last of the Taylor double bottomed boats, they are still very quick downwind and comfortable to sail. A good buy for someone go on guys,be competitive and still eat all the pies.

Hi, Sorry to take so long on this but I finally remembered to check out the number on the Merlin At Roadford, it is as the plaque says a Whyche & Coppack but I was out with the number, it is 2457. It has mast, boom, cover and trolley but needs redecking and the front planks are starting to sprin...

Just as well my wife doesn't read this as I only told her about the FD yesterday. I would love to come to Whitefriars next year if you guys will turn a blind eye to the fact that the FD will still be a few months under age. In the meantime I will be terifying myself and everyone else at roadford in ...

Will do, but it definitely has a WC build plaque on the thwart, its just that I forgot to write down the number at the time and the old brain is not what it was, probably been rattled by Finn booms too many times.

When looking around the Roadford pound last weekend with Neil the only Merlins present were 800 and a more modern Whyche & Coppack design with numbers which looked like 2456 but not certain, Both these boats had conventional foredecks. These boats are probably up for grabs but the later boat is ...

I would agree with that Alan, you were going far too quick you need to go slower downwind, but it wasnice to see all that effort as we went by.
On the subject of names that Taylor was going to be named 'Effineck' to go with the Vanguard 'Effinell' but she that must be obeyed said no.
