Re: National Rally - who is coming?
Hi Nessa, We will be coming to Hunts again for the National Rally and are planning to arrive in the motorhome on Friday evening although not sure which boat we will be towing yet. Please count us in for the AGM and barbecue. Looking forward to meeting everyone again as it seems a long time since the...

Re: Clywedog 9-10th July
Sorry Keith,
I'm afraid that I can't make it this either as I am in Germany on a training course until the 20th July. We will definitely try and come next year all things being equal. Hope it all goes well and the weather gods are kind.

Re: Staunton Harold in June
It sounds as though we missed a great event although not through choice I hasten to add as I am in Germany on a course at the moment! So I am hoping that the positive feedback and healthy number of entries might tempt Peter and the events committee at Staunton Harold into running it again next year?...

Re: Avon River Rally - Long Distance 'Picnic' Race
A big thank you from Wendy and I to all those at Severn Sailing club who made us so welcome and kindly let us sail with them on Sunday to get used to "River" conditions. I found that Sunday's lessons proved extremely valuable when it came to yesterday's picnic race which was certainly a no...

Re: Avon River Rally - Long Distance 'Picnic' Race
Hi Keith, I should ble to come up with an appropriate Europa Moth handicap, but first I need to know if you are planning to use the old 3 figure CVRDA type numbers or the current RYA system with a few additions for boats not covered? I am planning to come over on Sunday morning with the Shelley Moth...

Re: Baltic Warf, April 9th
I would like to add my thanks to those of Lyndon and Giles to all those at Baltic Wharf who helped run things for us on Saturday. Also a special thank you to Lyndon for bringing an extra boat and being brave enough to let me borrow his beautifully restored Stockholm Sprite. Unfortunately my moths ar...

Re: Baltic Warf, April 9th
Anyone else coming to Baltic Wharf on Saturday for the first event of the year or is it going to be just the Moths that have seen the light? I am hoping that a few more will make the effort in spite of the lack of posts declaring an intent, particularly as sailing in the dock is a rather unique sail...

Re: New venue in the darkest Midlands
Hi Peter, The dates are in the diary so planning to come as it looks like a great place to sail and will make a perfect alternative to Blithfield which doesn't feature anymore. Looking at the posts so far it wouls seem that a decent turnout can be expected so really looking forward to it. Regards Ian

Re: Any interest in a long distance river race as a CVRDA op
Great idea Keith and dates permitting I would certainly be interested in giving it a go. Haven't really done any river sailing since my days at Trent Valley longer ago than I care to admit. Should make an interesting change although I don't think it would be a venue for the Magnum! Cheers and see yo...

Re: Meeting at Hykeham anyone?
Hi Sam,
Depending on dates etc and how well it fits in between other events I would be up for it especially as we used to sail there when I was at RAF Coningsby in the 70s and it would be nice to go back and see how things have changed since we were last in Lincoln.
Best Regards
Ian

Re: Aldeburgh YC 3rd and 4th September 2016
Wendy and I quite fancy bringing a boat across and maybe staying over in the area for a few days either side as it is a part of the country we haven't really explored. If it doesn't clash with the Bosham CBR so much the better although I didn't manage to get to that event this year anyway. Is there ...

Re: Baltic Warf, 14th Nov, Final event 2015
Looking forward to it - can we pre-order wind this year? If you look at the current forecast on XC weather for Saturday your wish may well be granted with 40mph gusts at midday! A lot can change between now and then, however, so I will be monitoring things as the week progresses. I try not to allow...

Re: Wanted: international 14 sails
Hi, if Chalky isn't interested then I know someone that will be although I assume that your Cross III would have had the higher "I" measurement which would need a halyard exit higher up than on an older boat?

Re: Banbury 2015
Thanks again to all at Banbury SC for another great weekend and a most enjoyable first event for Wendy and I in the Merlin. It's entirely possible that we might be sailing the merlin again at a couple of CVRDA events next season. The quiz night was good fun although I suspect that we might not be in...

Ouch! Yes you can scream and probably throw something across the workshop as well! I suspect that we have all suffered a similar mishap at some stage, usually though trying to do a two man job in a hurry on your own.... I hope that you can sort it yourself or is this going to require another trip to...
