Re: AGM

Pat Frensham's date is not written in blood. The reason for that date is because when we first held the event it fitted in with the Club's 50th anniversary celebrations, which had a "50's" theme. It has just been convenient to the programme planners to have it remain then. I suggest you sp...

Merlin Rocket Mags and Yearbooks

Does anyone want Merlin Magazines and Yearbooks from 1980 to the present day ? All there, I think. No charge, but they would have to be picked up from Farnham, Surrey.

Give me a call. - 01252 311982

All the best,

Re: Frensham Pond next event

Garry

You stole my thunder. I was going to remind everyone that now the minor events are out of the way, we can get on to the more memorable days. Frensham is ready, the weather is ordered, and the tide is permanently in.

Be there.

Re: One for the Children

"Dinghy sailing, at club level, is losing numbers" True, yes, and a subject of great interest at Frensham, though Cadets still rule, with huge numbers. It's not getting the kids into the sport, it's keeping them there. So many other things to do, and calls on their time. One hobby-horse, h...

Re: New Rig, boat history etc

Not sure if it's the same thing, but there is/was a class called the IDRA 14, which is a variation of George O'Brien Kennedy's 14 ft dayboat class. It was clinker built, was half decked, and bermudian rigged. The class insignia was an 'M' underlined, with a 14 underlined below that, and then the boa...

Re: Internationa 14

Strange looking Int.14, but I know the item you mean. He wants £500 minimum, and I was thinking of selling 839, fully restored, trailer/trolley, cover, new sails, etc, for that. Seems like I will have to increase the price.

Re: Alloy centre plate

Just a footnote. Many years ago I was sailing a Lark at Bolton. Getting too near the shore I ran aground and bent the plate. I couldn't straighten it so took it to a steelworks in Bolton and asked them to do it. After some three weeks they called to say they had run it through their rollers many tim...
