Re: Down to one boat......

Roger, It does look like a nice and interesting boat/class and pretty too. Alas, I am not in a position to take on serious rebuilds. Its all I can do to keep a good boat serviceable. You only have to ask Michael4 about the junk I have passed on to him  Thanks for the thought though. Steve H

Re: Down to one boat......

That is one of the problems. I had a cast about last week, looking at Apollo Duck, etc, for an idle 10 minutes, but could not find anything classic/vintage that took my fancy. It might be that I already have my ideal boat. Certainly, nothing grabbed me, even boat classes that I have owned in the pas...

Down to one boat......

This year, having sold the Firefly, Hastings, and now my son's Moth, BoB, I am in the unusual position of having only one boat.....And 3 berths. But no winter storage - which is the crux of the problem. Its an odd feeling, as I have been custodian of multiple boats for too many years now. Not that I...

Well done Michael, great progress.

Do you ever get a chance to sail your boats?

:D

Re: N2323

Great boats. My favourite type of National 12. Fast, but still not quite let go of its 'general purpose' early roots. I.e. it is roomy, but still has a thwart in the right place and seats that can be sat on inboard, when the wind is light or you have some new/young crew. After that, the need to win ...

Re: British Moth

Got your message. Catch you next week.

Gave it a bit of scrub.

Needs a bit of tlc though. Abit of varnish and paint should be all though.

Cheers

Re: British Moth

This weekend or next is fine with me - you have my number. Evenings is best.

You will need a trailer if you want to take it away, unless you have the where-withal to put it on the car roof.

Cheers

Re: British Moth

In the ball park of the figure you mentioned above, certainly not more.

Best you come and see it and we can arrive at a figure we are both happy with.

Cheers

Re: British Moth

Its slightly dejected after having been ignored all year, but is solid with no rot. However, I will get the cover off it this weekend, chase the spiders out of it, give it a wash and have a sail in it. I will get some pictures to you, when I get home. We put a decent mast on it a couple years ago an...

Re: British Moth

I have one that is probably better sold than hanging on to it. Its at Whitefriars SC on the Wiltshire/Gloucester border (A419). Built in 1962. Best of British (BoB). Cheap boat, will be fine with a bit of fetling over the winter. Unused all year. Includes a cover and a launching trolley. Good sail. ...
