Re: Yachting Monthly Junior?

I've come across the answer: Boat-builder Kenneth Gibbs designed the 13ft 6in Junior in 1954 and the 16ft Senior in 1955 for the Yachting Monthly series of sponsored designs. Instructions for building both the YM Junior and YM Senior can be found in the book “Building Chine Boats” by Michael Verney...

Yachting Monthly Junior?

Not ever seen one but have heard the name....but it's not on the database?

Any ideas, positive IDs or is it just utilising an old set of sails?

Re: Bronze Sailing dinghy winch, very very old.

To my great surprise I find that there are new, bronze centreboard winches still available....Norfolk Marine have them for the bargain sum of £469!

Sad news..John Oakley

Saddened to hear that John Oakley ...multiple dinghy world and national championship winner and Olympic representative has died. Was a bit of a local hero to many young lads sailing dinghies on the Hamble in the sixties and later. Really kind to me and other youngsters - my condolences to his family...

Re: Paul Elvstrom RIP

Sad to hear - very much one of the greats in so many classes and an innovator in sailmaking and boat and accessory design.
