Re: Clywedog Rally 2020

Sorry to hear that Keith, but totally understand and to be honest I was half expecting the decision to cancel in light of recent developments. As Chris has said let’s hope that things have improved markedly before next season so we can have a more normal sailing year than we have had in 2020. Stay s...

Re: Clywedog Rally 2020

Hi Keith, Wendy and I (plus Baxter ) have already booked a stopover at a campsite near Rhayader in the hope that we will be able to carry on to Clywedog for the CVRDA Rally. We will be in the motorhome as usual so as Lyndon has said we can be self sufficient if necessary due to the Covid restriction...

Re: Roadford National Rally

As Peter has already said, “what a great event!” A big thank you must go to Ed who clearly put a lot of effort into making the event a bit special as befits the 20th Anniversary of the CVRDA. Fantastic to see such a good turnout and a wonderful array of rare and classic boats. I was particularly ple...

Re: Advertised near me!

Sorry, but that should be Seahopper not Grasshopper. If you google Yamaha seahopper it will lead to some CVRDA posts from a few years back about the class.

Re: Advertised near me!

I’m fairly sure that it is a Grasshopper marketed by Yamaha. Rare in this country as it is too similar to a Laser, but may have caught on elsewhere.

Re: Bowmoor Rally

Yes, I have also been watching the various forecasts all week in the hope that things might change, but the only thing that has is the maximum wind speed in the gusts by the odd mile per hour! Rather than cancelling and risking some people not getting the message we have decided to carry on with the...

Falling Attendance at CVRDA Rallys

It seems to me that particularly over the last couple of seasons that attendances at many of the CVRDA rally’s has been declining. I suspect that there are probably a number of reasons for this, but maybe we need to think about a strategy to reverse the trend before we lose some of our favourite ven...

Bowmoor Rally

Hi Everyone, We are only a fortnight away now from the next event on the calendar which is the Rally at Bowmoor Sailing Club on Coln Park Lake just off the A417 between Lechlade and Fairford. The lake has just been cleared of curly leaved asian pondweed by a professional company so there should be n...

Re: Clywedog ~Rally 24th - 27th May

Hi Keith,

We are travelling across from Newquay tomorrow in the motorhome towing the Magnum 6 Moth and should arrive at Clywedog around lunchtime provided we can get in that early?
Looking forward to seeing everyone again, how’s the water level?

Cheers

Ian and Wendy

Re: Hunts CVRDA Open

Thanks again to Nessa, Nikky and the team at Hunts for putting on another great event. Unfortunately there was a lower attendance than normal, but I suspect that this was largely due to the forecast strong winds for Saturday, which turned out to be accurate making for some exciting sailing for the f...

Re: Baltic Wharf

Three Moths are going, there will be two from Greensforge and one from Bowmoor (me). Forecast at the moment suggest a decent breeze, maybe too much in the gusts and a bit of early morning mist followed by drizzle.....classic Baltic Wharf really!

Re: Bowmoor event

A big thank you to Bowmoor SC and to Tom and Sam in particular who went out of their way to make us all feel welcome during the weekend. I hope everyone who came enjoyed it as much as we did and that this event can become an annual fixture in the future. Thanks also to Pat for sorting out the result...

Re: Bowmoor event

I am planning to be at Bowmoor Sailing Club by late morning tomorrow (Friday) and should have access to keys for the entrance gate and clubhouse. Hopefully I will be there before anyone who is planning to arrive during the day ( I believe the Minisail gang are hoping to have a training session) so I...
