Re: What is it?

Don't worry about what it is Max, it looks nice enough so just buy it! If only it would be that simple Peter! I think it looks great, and structurally sound enough to sail through almost anything. But I can't afford it, so I was asking more from an academic perspective than anything else.... I hope...

Perhaps they wouldn't have done, Jim.

But I was thinking more of (what I would perceive) a typical mythical pirate. More the sort you'd find in stories than in real life, in any era.

Re: International Talk Like a Pirate Day - 19/09/15

Aye, says I, but me family say naarggghh, despite their luv of 'he ol' rum 'n' grog! So me offe' they some doubloons to quash any fear o' an embarrassment in nature. Sadly they say no, to my quest o' inner pirate proof. So me say "avast ye, why yer hate o' ol' pirate speak?" But they ignor...

Re: FREE BRITISH MOTH

Hi Lyndon, ... My oh my, does that boat have some history! Instead of being called Skiffle, it should have been named 'toxic' - given the trouble that boat got me into. I was a nice sweet boy before that.... it all went downhill from there. I was explaining to Stewart, who owns the boat, that there...

Re: What is it?

I think this may be one of our Continental friends' designs....

It looks somewhat similar to this.

I can't quite make out that area on the photo.

Mothists from the 70's....

A bit of an odd request, but I have found (from looking through various year-books) that a certain skol moth used to be owned by: Labey P. of 1 Curridge Piece, Nr. Newbury, Berks. The boats name is Red Max, and is a skol moth (sail number K2976) http://www.keepandshare.com/userpics/m/a/x/_/mccarthy/...
