I've got magnum 8 k3941 which I am using every week in handicap racing
A moth even sounds brilliant, I would suggest somewhere in the midlands, so its central to most people

Re: international moth tiller extensions
I think the rudder is OK its pretty light and I suspect I'm trying to use too much rudder and not enough boat balance for steering. Its when I hear a way in a gust or a bit of wind the tiller extension just bends and the boat goes straight on

Re: international moth tiller extensions
I was wondering what people are using for their tiller extensions on international moths because mine is a bit of plastic conduit water pipe and I'm finding its a bit flexible at the worst possible moments.

Re: Moth Tuning
Boat looks good, I would advise against too much mast rake, it tends to lead to weather helmin stronger winds.
I like the idea of a lowrider meet and training session I'm based in York with my magnum 8
Got to say I fitted mine with a halyard its so much easier than lying the boat down every time

Re: Moth sail
Could a sail maker be persuaded to produce a batch if moth sails to keep classic moths on the water, I know the sail for my magnum 8 is pretty shot and has had the two bottom panels replaced

Re: Advice on carbon mast fittimg
carbon fibre has another problem, it is electrolytically reactive to aluminium and will actually corrode, or in laminate terms delaminate weakening its structure. stainless steel should be used for all parts in contact with carbon fibre

Re: British moth cracked deck repair
speaking from experience of stewartby, over the years cat sailors have sailed all sorts when the wind is light, some have stuck with cats but bought ones that go better than a dart 15 in not a lot of wind, there used to be a fleet of a class deltas, robin used to get his toy out, there have been tho...

Re: international moth wings
Temporarily I have repaired my ripped one, 6 hours of hand stitching a patch on both top and bottom sides of the wing. I also made enquiries, I contacted john claridge boats and was told they used to use sanders sails. A chat with sanders sails and they would happily make some although they haven't ...

Re: Magnum 8 on ebay
I've got her back and she looks ok. There's a weird spreader contraption on the mast that I think is designed to hold the shrouds and the forestay but currently looks broken and only holds the shrouds. Can anyone post images of what it should really look like? Cheers Dan i hope i have attached some...
