Gybing Rocking and Rolling
Has anyone been watching the Merlin and Solo forums (forii?) on this subject. Makes interesting reading, especially if you attended one or more of the recent Merlin Thames meetings. I wonder who will be the first to make a formal protest? Come on Pat and Sandy, I will hold your coats.
Hi Chris. I think the N12 rules have been altrered over time so its the all up weight must not be less than etc. They chuck everything in the boat so the hull and mast weights have plummeted. The new boats are probably carrying full lumps of lead round. My 12 would have been weighed as a bare hull f...

I think I spoke to this lady a while ago about her project. I am sorry she hasn't finished it but it is an opportunity for someone. The U-K was either decked or undecked. Mine is the latter and although a handfull in a blow she is great fun single handed in lighter airs especially if there is someon...

Pat - would you like me to start sounding out Brightlingsea for Aug BH?. On a technical note I think you might find the sea is warmer than fresh water especially after a period of rough weather. But there again those of us who never capsize never find this boring fact out! Can't gurantee air temp as...

Wayfarer number 33
This boat based in north Essex is, I am told, now available. I have seen it racing and she is fast with good sails, full bells and whistles and, yes, you have to see it, still carrying correctors!
Any takers?

Hi Pat. I really don't know about August yet. We had the Mirror champs this year so it was very, very crowded and frankly if we have things like that its best to choose another date! I know we have B14's next Whitsun but they are a smallish fleet and as there is no club sailing planned I have been to...

This is Andy Seedhouse Boatyard in Woodbridge. Interesting little town on the pretty river Deben where visiting yotties catch Debenitus and never sail out of the river! Seedhouse is worth a visit as some boats live there til the end of their days! He has a shed full of reclaimed bits and bobs. If yo...
