Re: Wood stain options?
go for the redecking option. all you need is loads of clamps, you can't have enough. I used a combination of clamps and sand bags to make sure the deck was down firm on the the decks beams and to get the curves right some pics here http://www.pegasus18.com/dinghies/index.php/2008/01/11/tideway-026-r...

Re: Prefered Suppliers?
Personally I'd rather support owners in doing the work themselves and sharing and developing the skills before they are lost or solely in the domain of the professional. Is this really the view we want to give to visitors to the site: that we have preferred suppliers. It sounds elitist to me.

and that quote shows the danger of quoting wikipedia. You'll find a large number of blogs are moderated, and shared by multiple contributors
And talking of moderation, perhaps the discussion on Web2.0 technologies might be carried on the Banter section.

she's looking great.
I was wondering.....is there a need for a separate forum for 'my boat'. it might help keep all the threads about particular boats together.

Re: A question about the racing rules
When we first started going to Roadford with the cvrda, we used lots of marks and most of the lake. The one I ran I used as much of the lake as I could, given that the water level was way down. Yet the last visit saw us using just the middle of the lake. Not progress, really - interesting that Ed f...

Roadford Event 1-3 May
It's that time of year for the annual pilgrimage to Devon, glorious weather and lots of clotted cream. The Roadford event is on the Bank Holiday Weekend 1-3 May and the programme is: Saturday 1st - registration, cruise, potter, relax, screw some fittings on the boat, watch Alan clean the diesel from...

Re: 1948 International 14 restoration ethics.
Seeing as Rannoch got mentioned I'll add my opinion as a former reasonably active CVRDA member and serial boat repairer and I don't pay a little man to do my work for me. As I've said before I'm not comfortable sailing a 1948 boat hard until she breaks, I race her when I want to and that's my decisi...

Re: Help
I'm with Rupert, in the right place it looks fine. It's also worth remembering that not everyone can afford to hand select every piece of of timber from Robbins, or pay a little man to do so. I'd rather see boats sailing than sitting unloved, waiting for the day that the owner can afford the time an...
