Interesting. Though this Finn is showing number 1 on the sail, the owner says it is really K122. But according to the Finn register K122 is a Pearson GRP boat built in 1962. A mystery ?

According to the Finn Register, which is woefully out of date I'm afraid, or at least my copy is, Finn K214 is an Elvstrom hull in GRP, made in 1965. Yes, this one jumped out at me immediately, but the 4 bladed prop (good description) was puzzling. There is a detailed write-up on the Tricorn in the 1962 DYB. it's described as an "extremely ingenious design". Whatever happened to it ?

My dad built a Lysander, from a Percy Blandford kit, in 1957. We had many happy holidays in it. Various Lasers, Larks, RS200's and other assorted rubbish in the middle. Just shows - who would think the yardsticks of a 2.4mR and a Finn could...

There is an Enterprise free in the Surrey area. Donald Smith (01483 565995) wants to see the back of it. It's number 4207, though I have no details other than that it has sails but no trolley etc, and 'leaks a bit'.

Once again the hoary old myth of the low boom gets raised.
