Re: Roll up, roll up, buy an entire museum collection
I know I need to strip and revarnish the family Firefly and replace her foredeck in the next few weeks. That being the case, should I even think of taking on the responsibility of restoring to sailing condition and maintaining a real classic, like a Fox Fourteen? Obviously I should not. So, of cour...

Re: Roll up, roll up, buy an entire museum collection
Enterprise No1 was there, I collected it from the Polytunnel for the Ally Pally exhibition of Holt boats 5(?) years ago. The Enterprise Association thought they owned it but it turns out had given not loaned it to the Exeter Maritime Museum. I would be very interested it trying to save that boat It...

Re: Roll up, roll up, buy an entire museum collection
Have managed to put some general pics on the CVRDA Facebook site for anyone interested - let me know if you need specifics. Tony - the marina manager - is also willing to take pics - he was responsible for the inventory listing so, whilst not an avid dinghy sailor, has a pretty good idea of what's t...

Re: Roll up, roll up, buy an entire museum collection
Tony - the Marina Manager - has asked me to publish his quote on accessing pictures of all the boats, sorry if this duplicates any other posts - he has been talking to a few people I think. Details of all boats in the collection can be found on the National Small Boat Register (https://nmmc.co.uk/ex...

Re: Roll up, roll up, buy an entire museum collection
The listings are pretty flawed, it seems. I saw it after I had looked at the boats and struggled to make sense of it but am happy to go and photograph and report on any of these...it's only a few miles from where I live. I have tried (and seem to be failing) to add a photograph to this thread but, o...

Re: Roll up, roll up, buy an entire museum collection
The lack of photographs or even a half decent description must surely ring the death nell for some of these as some have nothing more than a name to help you. Now to consult the piggy bank... I have been to see these (Lowestoft) today and have a few general and a few more specific photos. I can tak...

Pretty shape and made by Small Craft?
Saw this on ebay and thought it was a pretty shape. No mention of a rig but has a c/b case...it just looks familiar...can anyone enlighten me? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Dinghy/232299367353?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D40656%26meid%3D10db...

Re: Having a nose job.
I mentioned last year that I had a bump at Bosham. Reaching along the startline when a YW dayboat ambled across my path. In the ensuing panic, my bow sufferred a direct head on blow and the rubbing strip was lost... This is the state of my "nose" after tidying up and debriding the damage....

Re: Another unusual one..?
Not sure, but does look familiar doesn't it...... Some kind of kit-built scow from the 60s I would guess. I will have a think if I get the chance. But what about this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mudlark-Sail-Dinghy/252839899879 Really looks very lovely Best wishes eib The Mudlark is just down the ro...
