These will suit a hog or case stepped rig. They have been dry stored and have not seen a lot of use. Number One dacron main & Jib. Mainsail luff 5780mm (Lens) Foot 2395mm Jib 2.79 sqm. Measured March 98 but seem barely used. The main is in excellent racing condition, the jib is also in very good...

Try Robbins Timber http://www.robbins.co.uk. Most people swear by them and they quoted me £45 for 2 sheets of bog standard 4mm + £20 delivery to Essex. Cheaper than most of the places locally.

They also do a ply specifically for decking thats very pretty but is about £55 per sheet.

Can anybody help with some advice please? I managed to pop a joint between the keel and plank on my merlin at the weekend. Normally, if it was warm I would use epoxy and fillers to repair the joint. However, the boat is outside and its cold and damp, so I was thinking of using balcotan but I have no...

Anyone know of an easy way to adjust the fixed spreaders on a needlespar mast? I have been trying to set up the mast on my old merlin and I can seem to move the spreaders. I am not exactly weak and feeble but the only way I can see of bending them is to take the mast off the boat and use a piece of ...

Similar to Rogers suggestion, I have also used a wax based bike chain lubricant for a number of different applications. I think its called white lightning. The idea behing it is that it goes on as a liquid, dries like wax and wont attract grit or dirt. Seems to work ok most times, but does need to b...

Ed,

How long a piece do you need and have you tried a cycle inner tube? You would have to cut it either side of the valve and seal the ends, but you will have a ready made tube!

I am always wary of PVA glue and water. I use PVA bags and string when fishing as it holds bait together until it hits the water then dissolves. I would go for either the one part polyurethane or epoxy with micro fibres

There is a thread about paint on the Merlin forum at the moment. Somebody has suggested car paint could be used for hulls. Has anybody had any experience of using this?
