Re: Megamoth
From my perspective, I would really want to understand how practical it was in an everyday sailing environment before spending the hard earned on one. I would like to see how the foils are raised and lowered on the go - picked up a hint of a control line to raise them but cannot be sure. Also what ...
Re: Megamoth
Yes, it does make you wonder though - is there a reason for that?Nigel wrote:Would like to have seen how it tacks and gybes though. They seemed to have missed those in the video

Re: Megamoth
Nessa, David and all,
Is this what you mean by the Megamoth?

Having had small look at photos, I felt that 'teramoth' might be more appropriate!

Max

Re: K89
Sadly not Mike (a mixture of too much school work and my UCAS application, are probably the most likely reasons).
She certainly is an interesting and unique one.
Let us know how you get on!

Re: K89
Mike, She looks fantastic, you should be very pleased with yourself. There has been (and still is, really) a lot of speculation about this boat over on the IC forum. Your photos show much more of the general hull shape than any of mine did, so there may be a lot of interest in this boat over there. ...

Oh, I would, really I would. But being about to (hopefully) start university, I am probably not in a particularly suitable position to own such a boat.Metallurgix wrote:...I would urge anyone interested to consider getting a boat. You'd be made very welcome.

A classic 14...
With the sun appearing more often, and the seasons about to turn; it is no wonder how ones attention can quickly turn to looking at more (? yes, even more than normal...) to do with sailing than the winter months can emulate. Being in a position when I can simply not take on any more boats (not from...

More here: http://www.cvrda.org/community/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=5341&p=45955&hilit=+skol#p45955 It is, as the posts in the (above) thread indicate, a mk2. Interesting stuff about the skol here, too: http://www.internationalmoth.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/IMCA-UK-Yearbook-1969.pdf (s...

Re: Enterprise Im still going
Not sure if this'll 'top' anything (at least in the sense you are implying) but perhaps, might just about cover it? If you require a temporary form of shelter for your project, a tent can often provide a quick (and typically easy) route for help. I wouldn't use one in winter though (mainly a tempera...

Re: Anyone going to the Dinghy Show?
I would be going, and even got as far as buying train tickets. However; as it turns out, I have a visit day at Queens Belfast (the same day - the 28th). So, is anyone travelling from Birmingham; either Snow hill leaving at 7:11, or Moor Street at 7:15, or even Stourbridge (where the ticket was booke...

May be of interest to someone?
Just thought someone may be interested in this advert I have just seen, of what I believe to be the UK's oldest sailing Cherub....
