On the whole I prefer the look of age which will mean variations across a big panel unless you have solid quality Cuban/Honduras Mahogany in which case you can usually sand it back to new. You have ply and probably not a quality veneer either so why not just give it a good deep gloss finish and show...

I am sure if you pay them most sail-makers will make anything, if you are looking for a period type sail Mike Mac Namara may be your man, not cheap but the best never is. The sails will lok superb and he is a very very nice man.

I see sailing at Thames Sailing Club is delayed this Sunday because of the "Hampton Court Swim", plenty of water up strweam that is not sailed on I should have thought!

THe varnished topsides, and mast tabernacle suggest The Rebel Class, a very small class sailed out of Horning Sailing club assuming the reverse sheer in the picture is due to camera lens distortion.
