Unfortunately time and wanting Tom launch 'Seventh Heaven' before our club training day next saturday mean I wont be able to attend this year.
Have to catch up with you all at an event. Hope everyone has a great time.

Re: Single handed racing in a two hander?
We take the same attitude at our club. We want people to join in rather than sit on the bank if a someone ends up single handed. We make an adjustment on the handicap -20. But some reckon they go slower singlehanded! I guess that depends on the boat and conditions really, a single handed firefly wo...

Re: Single handed racing in a two hander?
That sorts that one. I do think it is something that should attract more to the CVRDA, the way anyboat in any set up is welcome.
Anyway hope to see you at Blithfield Chris.

Re: Dinghy show?
Sorry Luke............forgot to say - I'll see you at the show and we can share 'smokers' stories! D Sounds good David, though I would imagine yours far outnumber mine. I do love the stories of old boats, more interesting things seemed to happen back then. Did you manage to substantiate the story o...

Re: Land of the Giants?
Sounds like the ideal crewing job. I'm sure the helm would still manage to blame the crew when it goes wrong.

Re: Single handed racing in a two hander?
Hi Chris,
I cant speak for the CVRDA but you would be very welcome at the event in Blithfield. I dont know whether there is a precident for an adjusted handicap for single handed and smaller main, Pat would probobly be best to answer that.

Re: Blithfield event 2013
I'm hoping to get a good turn out for the Merlins do I say go for that. Is your boat 799?
I really want a good turn out for this as I would like to make it an annual event if there is good support.

Re: Help! Don't know what boat to go for?
Active racer rather than passenger, but I can imagine dinghy cruising being a lot different. I just love to be sailing, in any form. Have to see which boat we end up with. How does the GP compare to the Wayfarer on stability? They look more tippy but that could be because I've only ever seem them ra...
