Re: Explorer Dinghy

This project is still sitting in our compound looking for an owner. The wooden parts are deteriorating but we have found the sails for it in storage. Please, someone, take this on!

Enterprise Rudder

We have acquired an old grp Holt Enterprise but there is no rudder assembly. Can anyone help me out?
This is the design where the tiller passes over the top of the transom, as opposed to the classic style with the transom port. They had gone to the oblong blade by this time also.
Thanks for any help

Re: To tape or not to tape, that is the question...

Yours was an early Jeff Ambrose boat, but does she have frames, I cant remember? If so, the ply must have sprung apart from the framing somewhere. You will need to glue it back on but watch out for decay around the failed joint. If found, see if any decayed material (ply) needs to be removed back to...

Re: Hi... Newbie from Kent

They have gradually tailed off at our club which was virtually the last Wineglass stronghold. At Fishers Green we still have several sailing regularly but no new blood interested in sailing them. We will be holding the Wineglass Southerns on 11th October, hoping to get any visitors from Swarkstone S...

Wineglass Sails

If there is anybody out there still sailing a Wineglass, we have some second-hand sails that are surplus to requirements. There are a couple of suits, some look quite good.
Any interest give me a call on 07713 871802

Pacer Sails

I seem to have acquired some Pacer sails.
One main and 2 or 3 jibs. I believe the class is now no more, so no market for them unless you happen to still have an old Pacer.
Space needed.
Contributions to the beer fund gratefully accepted.

Explorer Dinghy

We have an Explorer (Yachting World) dinghy taking up space. A rare beast, believed to be designed by Jack Holt, grp shell with wooden decks. See designs on this site. Its sitting on its own trailer, but the decks need work /replacing. has wooden spars, also in deteriorating condition now but savabl...

Re: Merlin Rocket 3055

Hi David I always make a photographic record of these projects but I think the files are too large to e-mail. I can make them smaller and mail some 'before and after' shots. Likewise, I'm not sure what size is required to upload to the CVRDA? I've started a couple of snaps of 3055, working on the ne...

Re: Merlin Rocket 3055

Thanks to each of you for the replies. Bits for Shogun;- I'll have to have a major inventory check but I have all the major stuff except the bags. They should be the standard 36 x 12 ". I've heard that Grubby is the new Clean this season, so bring em on! I'll be looking to move Passion on as so...

Merlin Rocket 3055

In case people wonder how these threads end, I cant remember how long it's been since I rescued this old Merlin from the previous would-be restorer. "Wife says boat must go/Land Rover takes priority;- it must go or be scrapped etc" A familiar story among the classic car/bike fraternity? So...

Did you find any Osprey Sails? I have a set for disposal, taking up space so going cheap. In Essex but could sort something out.

Re: help - wineglass

Try Brian Conroy on 07710 463922. A very few are still sailed at Fishers Green SC and recently held their Nationals there, albeit with only 1 visitor from Swarkstone SC.....
