Re: £100 Phantom

absolutely, with a couple coats of UCP and numerous coats of Epifanes this should not need stripping down again. This one had had most of the varnish removed when I bought it, but the decks had been be left unvarnished with the cover on, resulting loads of water staining and mould on the deck. Netro...

Re: £100 Phantom

Making good progress, should be finished in the next few weeks. Got the the decks as good as I can get them, the bleached out and green ply won't take anymore sanding as the veneer is very thin as it's been sanded down a few times in the past. https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4155/33653665733_8a2169f89...

CVRDA uniform

Following the exposure given in this article, http://www.yachtsandyachting.com/news/195212/Is-the-F-In-Fun-going-to-be-lacking-in-the-future, is it worth a group order for a new CVRDA uniform? http://i1.adis.ws/i/egl/23888938_NOCOLOUR_M?$main_portrait$ http://www.studio.co.uk/shop/en/studio/s...

Arthur Beale chandlery

Finally got the time to get to the revitalised Arthur Beale Chandlery on Shaftsbury Avenue and spend a happy 20 mins poking around. They currently have Epihanes at £28 for 1.2litres (also on mail order), found some interesting tools there - got a very nice Japanese Shinto Saw Rasp for £19. They are ...

Re: A big boy did it and ran away!

Pyrahnas were built in the 80s. I think most were delivered for a Worlds in the UK without being fitted out so a number of people bought them and had to fit them out the days before racing started. All carbon, I think mine was the heaviest measured for the 2005 worlds at 100kg. Very solid. I was war...

Is that a Pyrahna with the bridge deck removed?

Re: Regarding Enterprise E27

Reading the previous posts It's the Enterprise Association that have the boat.

I'd suggest contacting Suffolk Merlin ( memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=553) via the PM or Email buttons

UCP shelf life

Currently have the £100 Phantom in the workshop, stripping it down ready for new varnish on the decks. New workshop is a bit of a luxury as it's an extra large double garage that's part of the house and the temperature in there is consistently 13 degrees at night (no drafts, no damp, no mice, no rat...

Europa Moth 2588

This has just been posted on the CVRDA Facebook group Hi all. I've been the owner of Europa Moth 2588 (forerunner of the International Europe) for two years and I'm going to have to let it go. The previous owner had carried out most of a restoration and all it needed was paint/varnish, the fittings ...

£100 Phantom

Collected my latest project last weekend. Bought unseen via Nessa's Dinghies for Sale FB Group. Bit of a risk but finally got the cover off today and had a good poke around. Turns out the boat is one of the four composite boats built by Rondar in the early 80s and is 873, not 274 as advertised. Has ...

screwdrivers

Saw a review of these in Classic Boat and bought a set. For £4.49 and free delivery they are very good value.
