Who's going to Beaulieu?? Sunday 26th April 10am onwards for the country's biggest boat jumble and what is usually our main boat bits shopping of the year. The chance to stock up with paint, varnish, epoxy, gelcoat and fibreglass (if you're that way inclined), clothing, old sails, ropes and fittings of every shape and size and lots more. It takes all day just to get round, as there's so much to poke through on the stalls, so be early.
If enough are going we'll meet by the bar at lunchtime.

...and for the non sailing family members, you can direct them to Exbury Gardens on the other side of the river. It's my guess it'll just be coming into its main bloom about then. They can dump you off for a full guilt free day of rumaging while they spend the day rambling through the Rhodedendrums and azalea walks.

Great family day out all round! :D

I wish.

I am afraid the days are gone when I used to take £200 in cash....and then have to line up at the on-site hole-in-the-wall to get more cash to get more 'deals' that I simply afford to miss.

Mind you I have problems simply going to the dump here. So many sailing bits turn up there. Last week I picked up a 9ftish Proctor gold bendy-boom - that one with a weird section. How could I not when it was only £2.00. Not mad on bendy-booms so if anyone has an old sail that just looks silly on a straight boom.....give me a call.

They had a complete Mirror Rig as well.....but I left that.

have fun at Beaulieu

cheers

Can't resist the chance for a bit of slightly off topic fun here.

Ed, you clearly have a better class of dump than most of us who have to resort to a road trip to Lidl's (or similar) when we need to find a "useful" bargain.

My wife has taken to frisking me before and after my visits to the recycling centre. Firstly to confiscate my wallet and secondly to find out how much loose change I spend from the "parking meter fund" I spent while I was there!

I've not yet seen any really useful sailing stuff at mine and A.G's only has things like Sash weights  (told you I'd get that one in Roger :P )

The best thing I ever got was one of those suspended wicker chairs. (circa 1960's, "Abigail's Party" type vintage) It's still the childrens favourite garden toy. One day I hope I can use it on a boat big enough to need a comfotable bosuns chair
