nessa,
went out toget a new trailer wheel and drove back to the sounds of Buffalo Springfield - I got so nostalgic I had to rush home for some Bonnie and Delany..... Comin Home!
A better Idea! I'll save you the insults that you'll get on here by sailing your plastic boat for you! - you can then get on with the RSI!
have you any idea as to the grand slam yet? I'm supposed to be sailing a Laser 4000, then the Alto, so that I can say something deep and meaningful about both! (actually, I think both are good boats)
will the mogo make it to whitefriars next week?

I suspect Crewe may be nearer the mark.
I spent many years working for and then with RR and they parted company with the car business in the early 70s.
Now that is a set of engineers who could design a remarkable dinghy . Hugely advanced computational fluid flow dynamics and stress analysis capabilities. It would however cost slightly more than a new MR .

Yes that was my thought as well.I suspect Crewe may be nearer the mark.
Mind you I thought the Royce is technically in Teutonic control these days.

In the interests of thread hijacking:
the RR car works at Crewe and the Bentley name was bought by Volkswagen (from Vickers if I remember rightly)
The RR name was licenced to BMW who built a new factory at Goodwood.
VW were rumoured to be upset when they found that the RR brand name did not come with the factory.
The aero, marine and industrial power group whose main business is gas turbines continues as RR PLC (who own the rights to the RR name).
The latter are the people who could build a very good boat if they put their minds to it (particularly the Defence division in Bristol).

If the weather changes as predicted then no, it won't be done...but I will keep trying. The Grand Slam is unlikely - we usually go to Bala, when it usually snows or blows a hoolie. I also rate the Asbo btw. It has good ancestry after all!
All this RR talk is bring ing back to mind the Alpha Mk1, which none of you seemed to rate at all...

Hi AG,
can you fit a towbar to it?
That is what has been putting me off buying a Ferrari all these years

Tow bar was no prob' though we use a Tuareg for towing, the silly weight regs inyuerrup are no problem either! 2+tons 199mph. Fuel economy-whats that! That's why I use a Golf too.
