Poirot

Post by Ancient Geek »

Some may remember the search last summer for a boat as a living prop for a Poirot film on ITV.
On Sunday it came to fruition, the opening sequence being the boat,a Brightlingsea One Design supposedly being sailed by the eventual villain, and his "squeeze" played by Martin Shaw who a long way since his "Kitchen Sink" days at the Royal Court with Jane Asher.
As these things go the sailing was not bad and the resulting improbable drama typical Christe.

Hi AG
Which one of the Brightlingsea pirates boats did they use? Alot of the BOD's in use are owned by various exmembers of the nautical Hells Angels the Brightlingsea Hornet fleet. Their capo being a certain Prof Steve Heppel, another member being the notoreous Hornet redesigner and builder Malcom Goodwin of the Revolution Hornet.
Regards and a Happy New Year to You.

It was actually no 24 - "Nan" with borrowed sails. Malcolm's sails for No1 were made in the right colour cloth and the right cut.

However, fear not, the Hornet connection is still string as past owners include Mr Willett, Mr Dealtry and Mr Constable! :D :D
