I wish I could fit one of my boats in what is left of my garage:(

kicked the wife out of the sitting room last night whilst I watched two hours of British Aircraft manufacturing in the 40's, 50's and 60's. Meteors, Vampires, Hunters, Sea Vixens, Viscounts, V-Bombers and the list goes on.

Not boats I know, but still.....

Its going to cost me dearly though!

Cheers

And the incredible TSR2! What a waste of all that talent. One of the biggest single nails in the coffin of the home grown aerospace industry hammered in by Harold Wilson!

Sadly Harold Wilson was right:
TSR2 was not the answer a great piece of Technology but...
You can still see one at the museum at Duxford and anther on the ranges in Essex Marshes.

So, ignoring the politics (there are other places for that, folks), I'm lucky in the the X factor has yet to make it onto the screen in our house. When I do need to escape, it might be time to finally take a good look at Saskia's centreboard case!

Angie knows I hate xfactor and will just about tolerate Strictly( read a book whilst its on). So she waits until I am out and then watches it all on i player.

I have just got in to be told the result of the final that she has just watched. Someone I have never heard of is apparently going to be a star.

You really do need to train your better halves better :D

Someone you have never heard of is going and has had all the originality trained out of them is going to have a conveyor belt hit at Christmas which will make a cynical rich man richer and then they will vanish without trace. Is that what you meant by "star"?

Rupert you are so cynical, but yes that's what I mean but I suspect the money to make the rich man richer has already been made by all those phone calls made for voting.

ps Apologies for terrible grammar

When you find SWMBO lining all your Airfix jets up on the windowsill with an air pistol in hand then you should know she is not doing the dusting.

A recreation of Essex marshes is more likely!!

Strictly and X Factor don't get a chance in our house and the only bit of Eastenders we see is the first few beats of the theme tune when we're too slow finding the remote!
I'm collecting the kit for a retreat to the sewing room to make up some covers and mast bags - much more comfortable than the garage workshop.

Easy solution to this one! In 2001, when I took up permanent residence aboard my old IOR one tonner for a few years, I threw my TV in a skip, and suddenly found that all the books I had been meaning to get round to reading were suddenly getting read, and the backlog of projects started to disappear. When I moved back ashore, I never did get round to buying a new TV...

I'd have the telly simply to watch Big bang Theory. Sad but true...

Foyles War make having a telly worthwhile! Honeysuckle Weeks round Rodeanean vowels and Foyles laid back scepticism.

And there's always an episode on at least one channel at any time of the day.
