Re: Launching.
I was Kayaking from Carbis Bay round the island to Porth Meor beach when I came across 2 men fishing from one of those £20 plastic dinghies, they had normal clothes and shoes on, no bouyancy aids a dog, plenty of beer.
Re: Launching.
FOR THOSE OF YOU FAMILIAR WITH CLYWEDOG. Our jetty is tight in to rocky shore and slipway and to even further complicate matters has a large T at the end.
There is no hard and fast rule on a successful departure but practical experience has a lot going for it.
You can give all the theory instruction you like but no substitute for practice, practice, practice.
As an SI with **yrs of sailing experience I am a little concerned at the ease of which some DI's and SI's are gaining their
qualifications with only a bare minimum of Sailing experience.

Hi Keith, I have sailed at Clywedog, I do not think it is a difficult place to leave or land, launch from shingle, land on your floating pontoon, ( svsc is investing in one ), after nearly 2 years of lee shore landings against a concrete wall, any where seems easier.
