Great news!!
yet another truly 'lost' class has reappeared!
The boat in question is a Foil, a mid 1950s hard chine play dinghy. It is small but very pretty.
I am hopeful to do a full on spread on the boat (which tasted the water at Rutland for the first time in some 50 years at the weekend)
My next forum string will put up some photos, plus I want to get this in the mag if possible!!
But it just goes to show what gems of dinghy history still exist out there.

Re: taking the Point!!!
Hi Guys
My father built a Foil as a birthday present it was my first boat, before I graduated on to a Cadet.
Cheers Al Finn 424 etc

Re: taking the Point!!!
Do you want magazine pictures etc, or videos of the Australis proto sailing with the hard-chine Contender prototype?
Re: taking the Point!!!
Chris,
I already have some pics of the hard chine Contender being sailed, courtesy of Bob Ross and Craig Whitworth. However, I'd love to see anything you have, as I have quite a store of early Contender stuff. Ditto the Australis.........
The Contender stuff would be very timely as the book on the Contender is now finished, I just have the photos placed into the final chapter or so.
How close are you to either Melboune or Brisbane Chris..... as I may have to visit both this xmas (ISAF Sail Mebourne regatta and Contender Worlds)
