I'd certainly bet on Scorpion. The web site describes a cohort of boats @ 1000-1100 built as composites with full height decks. Early models had a stern tank as well but the design layout seems quite flexible with significant changes allowed in deck and sidedeck design, and even changes in the hull shape with a choice of a flat or "V" shape stern hull, so different boats in the same class do better inland vs the sea.
That might explain why a consensus is so hard to arrive at.
I was interested to see the design brief specified a boat that could be launched off a beach into surf. That in itself conjours up an exciting prospect of a seaworthy rugged boat, with lots of bouyancy, and would explain the reason for that rather high bow tank and a breakwater like a 1970's shirt collar with matching Shoulder pads. (Dallas is back on TV too! )
