Albacore 882

Post by Nessa »

Out at hunts at the weekend. Built by Fairey. Gair has spliced in a new mast tip. Any ideas as to age?

Interesting picture as the hybrid mast is presumably the original Fairey style (alloy section topped with wooden tapered top and birdcaged rigged) . I've read about this but not seen one before

Yup, that is a fairey wooden-top. Jollyboats and I think some 14s had them too....

I have got a jollyboat one at home, but have never used it.

I can give you a fair date for the Albi......but will have to wait until I get home

cheers
