Mirror age

Post by Nessa »

Two scamps that did S1/2 with us in May have bought a Mirror sail number 6?628. Any idea of age? Wooden spars, manky sails, gaff rig. No kite.

The above link seems to have all the info - fits in with the ages of Mirrors we've owned in the past.

Worth bearing in mind that the dates mostly refer to the supply of the kits as most boats were home built - inevitably a number will not have been completed in the same year as the kit was produced.

The last mirror I built with my dad in the late 70s was 62357 so the mirror class figures are right - I am sure that one had an alloy mast with the kit though. Perhaps it was an option. I am in the middle of building 48*** with my daughter at the moment so the sail number is no guarantee of age though....
