Re: For LaserTourist - Gouget Aluminum Moth
Hello.
Slightly off topic, What is the 2 man double sliding seat job on the title page, please?
I've often wondered about the feasibility of a two man assymetric Internnational Canoe in modern materials................ !

The boat in the Earwigoagin header photo is the Australian Vee Jay, a very popular junior Australian 12 footer in the 1960's (John Bertrand got his start in this class).
A better canoe class to draw inspiration for an adult double planker is again Australian, the Payne Mortlock Canoe.

Re: For LaserTourist - Gouget Aluminum Moth
There is a surprising number of those still in existence in France (The Gouget showroom still existed sone three years ago near Eglise d'Auteuil in 16th district of Paris....complete with an unsold brand new ALU moth)
Some of them do turn up on Le Bon coin from time to time...
There were not many produced , of course but on inland waters they proved to be durable and any tinbasher / autobody specialist can restore them ...in saltwater the riveted construction proved not to b immune to electrolytic corrosion ...
Mr Gouget had been a moth racer with some racing successs and his aluminium moth was ahead of its times , starting in the late fifties and produced (a trickle of them ) until the late 70's
There was even a powerboat version and a sloop rigged version.
