Eh?

Post by Michael4 »

What is this? Looks too short to be an Albacore but has a stern deck...and a 'flag holder???

It looks like an Albacore to me, with a stern deck like all the other early ones.

Strange isn't it....

I am with Michael4, it just looks too short and stumpy to me. The transom doesn't look right either. Could be the angle...or this or that, but personally, i think it is an Albacore that has been re-transomed. How short.....maybe 6-9inches or so. Would be good to get an accurate length and some internal shots.

cheers

I think Ed may be on the right track.

The pic of the transom shows two big bits of thick ply stuck to the bottom of the boat on either side of the keel in exactly the area where boats rot when left bow up...the rest of transom looks like a bit of ply with the grain running up and down...surely it would be a bit of wood with the grain running crosswise???

I would ask why the cover has been left on? What is hiding under there. I reckon he is hoping some mug will buy a wreck.
