Wood filler

Post by Nessa »

What is the best stuff for filling the little holes that have had fitting screws in them yet are now redundant? The boat will then be varnished.

Any of the propetry fillers International do a 2 pack mahogany one (Interpad?) probably lots of others do too. Not given away if you are going to use ordinary varnish Brummer is a lot less expensive. OR if you want to be really smart drill the hole out and use grain plugs. You can buy these but you may have to fiddle with stains to get a true colour match.
Simples.

Plugs look the best, but you need enough depth to set them. You can buy plug cutters that go in an electric drill. Get two or three sizes.
