An Aries dinghy, clinker, built on the South Coast in the mid 50,s or 60's. About 14ft, 1/2 decked very simliar to a large tideway. Any ideas on builder/designer/history purpose? I would load a photo but cannot see how to do so.
Thanks
Any Detail on This?

Hello Trevor,
The Aries has a very brief entry under "other classes" in my 1954 copy of "Sailing Dinghies" by John Fisher.
Lenth O.A. 14ft
Lenth W.L. 12ft 6in.
Beam 5ft 10in
Sail area 143 sq ft
"Christchurch, Hants,is the headquarters for this class of half decked fourteen-footers. The Aries carries a respectable amount of sail-supported by plenty of beam."
That's all there is I'm afraid. No photo. But also in
"The Dumpy Pocket Book of Sailing Dinghies and Yachts" of 1960 the same measurements are given but sail area is given at 125sq ft and is " Designed by H.S.Beminster Ltd."
