Hi John, have you used 2 pack before, if you have not, it has got a very persistent smell that clings to everything for weeks, I brought some home from work once and the smell stayed in car for weeks, plus it is very toxic so be careful in a closed environment, but it is a good hard wearing finish, it should set even in an unheated area, but it does not like damp, their is an extra hardener you can add called repair hardener, which you use as well as normal hardener, but it sets faster. Rob.

Also - painting a GRP boat is not always the best thing to do.

I'd recommend first trying a GRP polish/restorer - the effect can be excellent. GRP when painted looses its shiny surface quality..

but as you say its in primer already, then the top coat must be compatible with the primer: do you know what that is?

I have used this to good effect, but it doesn't like primer unless it is from the jotun range. On grp I think it is best used with out primer unless the boat has already been painted In fact the pinky purple ToY (in the Holt history thread) is painted with this, and is grp, but had no primer and a thorough rub down first.

What is this GRP polish, I was going to try Tcut or G3 on areas that are dull.

We used Muck-Off boat cleaner and then ordinary car polish on a Lark and the boat looked wonderful. The elbow grease is the main ingredient for success. We spent the next races sliding off the side decks though
