dangly stick
Since I usually sail Julia Dream single handed using the spinnaker is rather out of the question
In order to maximise performance downwind I've been using an old short spinny pole to hold out the jib, but since it still needs setting up it's not really an option, and I now wonder whether a N12 dangly stick would work better.
can anyone out there elucidate to me how they are set up? In the meantime I'll look at the N12 site for info.

Re: dangly stick
I also have a set of instructions for this.
I did one for my National 12 Sparkle.
It uses a cheap fisherman's landing net pole. Cost - up to £20.
Seems to work well.
Let me know if you want the article.
Cheers

Re: dangly stick
Yes please Stephen.
I've already been perusing the ebay ads for a suitable pole, there's no way I'm shelling out £100 for a carbon stick when you can get something adequate for £20.
Thing is, will this bit of carbon invalidate my cvrda cred?

Re: dangly stick
reckon a decent bit of bamboo will cast about the same as carbon!
