This boat is now up for sale, stored indoors, since this thread started only been in water 4 times, so dry, knee hole in floor from last time it was sailed, not rot though, accident.
I believe it is a foreman.
Open to offers.

2535, that's Eggbert the Nasty. Forman 8. Excellent provenance - she was a pro boat builder's own boat.
It must have taken some very serious effort to put a knee through the floor.

Hi Jim,
This happened on a very windy day, Helm was standing up whilst running and accidentally gybed, this threw him onto his knees, only the floor is damaged, the hull is ok, their is not an actual hole, their are 2 cracks in the shape of a cross, probably an easy repair, if I was doing it I would just plate it over.
The boat is very well made, I can see it was probably proffesionnally built.
I am waiting for photos to be sent to me, a verbal description I can do,
Their is a Bow sprit,
along length of floor their is a ally tube fixed, (for rigidity?)
The bow is vertical,
floor is finished with black floor paint and stripes of grippy tape, sides of cockpit are bright red gloss paint, Hull is black,
all finishes look original and in good condition.
deck is a nice patterned veneer high gloss varnish, I think it may be sapele, grain is in long stripes.
boom is oval, but quite deep, probably 4"x2", black anodised,
all sails are there, ok for club racing, but not new.
Overall a nice boat in good condition.
Jim, just re=read original post, your concerns regarding mod's, "nothing was altered from original" :D

This puts me in mind of a rather good coaching clip about what to do in a Gybe...
Obviously a penitent man...

Quite a bit about the boat here: http://www.uk-cherub.org/doku.php/boats/2535

As a matter of interest, it sounds from those pages like the broken false floor was not original.

looking forwards to seeing the images.

To which rules is she currently set up?

Oh, a false floor is it? No, that wouldn't be original.

[Later] actually I'd better qualify that. A false floor in the helm area wouldn't be original. A "crew deck" - false floor in the crew's workspace - is quite possible on one of Simon's boats, although the original photo suggests she didn't have one.

Just looked at link, that is the boat. The finish on pictures is how it is now, if you look closely you can see progression to false floor, in one picture dagger board sticks up, in later pictures it is flush, still waiting for photos, however it looks no different from later photos on cherub link.

30 years ago I lusted after a Cherub... Of course back then they were only slightly more insane than N12s are now....

I'm kinda glad I bought an N12 and don't have the cash for this!

I was initially told he would be glad to see back of this boat, virtually a giveaway, I am trying to find out what situation is now, but it is definitely up for sale.
The original ad that David found this boat on, is still on Cherub website, (not updated very often).
He paid £600, but ill health since he obtained it means he has been unable to sail.( not caused by boat :D )
I have crewed this boat twice, both times in strong wind, to fast for our small pond.
