Loving the hot weather...

Post by Rupert »

Probably breaks all the painting rules, but 2 coats of undercoat, 1st at 9.30am, 2nd at 2.30pm... how often can you do that in our climate?!

Just the topcoats to go, now. Might have to space them out a little bit more.

I would have thought it would have sagged by now if you had overloaded the surface.

Yep, seems to have worked fine. 2nd coat was touch dry in an hour.

Opened the can of red top coat to take a look, and it is a great shade. Can't wait to see it on the hull!

We had flying ant day last week. So you should be safe. It is amazing how they all fly at the same time despite being many miles apart. The Swallows enjoyed themselves.

Final coat went on this morning - no ants.

Not the best finish ever, but it'll do. Nice colour. Will take pics at some point soon, then leave her a while for the paint to get nice and hard before turning her over.

I have to confess, the hot wether has also gone to my head. Or is it the white spirit fumes.
