Enterprise Restoration

Post by smilicus »

Hello all.
;
I recently acquired an Enterprise built in 1964 in South Africa. I have restored a lot of wooden sailing dinghies over the years, but need some adivce:

1. Where can I get a detailed doc on measuring the Ent. It seems that due to some loose knees, the boat is a bit more flat (by 3/8ths of an inch)
2. One of the previous owners replaced the keel with meranti...crap. Can I replace with Oregon pine? We do not have the actual lengths so is it allowed to scarf join piece to make up the keel?

Thank you

You'd need the Ent association for a measurement form, but often things like keels have to be hardwood in class rules. Easy enough to find, I'd have thought.
