copper nails

Post by neil » Thu Sep 13, 2018 4:55 pm

As part of the ongoing restoration of Zenith I get through a lot of 16g 3/4” copper nails and have spent a lot time trying to track them down as I’ve used over 600 nd need 800-1000 to finish the ribs. Many suppliers said they had them, but this proved to be wrong as they were waiting for stock.

I’ve bought small amounts when I’ve found them.I suspect that UK manufacturering stopped and it’s taken a while for other suppliers to produce smaller sizes, or for chandleries to source stock from China.

Finally found a supplier on eBay who has a decent range and they delivered today. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/200grms-Copp ... 2689227528

I know others have had problems tracking down smaller sizes so thought it was worth sharing.

If only someone would make Jeffrey’s Seamflex again!
