Re: Competition time
Somebody cut in halves an old GRP kitchen sink or washbasin???
Re: Competition time
The cockpit area from a Laser deck moulding? If it's not, shame 'cause it's about the best thing that could happen to a Laser.

Ore else somebody ripped off the inside skin of an old GRP countermolded boat or cockpit boat locker (hence the drain plug...)

Oh yes, beaten at the post , it is an inside piece of Laser cockpit, with the plywood area being the reinforcement for the strap

Re: Competition time
Many Europe sailors (specially those with gorgeously varnished wooden cold molded cristallis) scold the laser sailors as riding bathtubs ...upon what laser sailors generally answer hey are proud of it ....and specially in huge waves and big wind as the drain of the said bathtub is well designed....
It i only recently that Devoti Finns, some europes, and other singlehanders got a really watertight front compartment.... OK's often took quite a bit of seawater through the mastgate in rough seas...
I for one, think it is better to sail in a self bailng bath tub than in a submarine with open hatches and torpedo tubes....

Pat, You're on my lines, there's a good reason 2 of my lasers have been called 'Iron-on'.

My Classic Moth #105 is a Maser.... a Laser that has been chopped up to fit the Classic Moth rule. Two fellows from Virginia perfected the chop and glass technique. With a wood deck the Maser weighs approx 40 lbs. less than a stock Laser. Haven't splashed the Maser yet this year, maybe this weekend.

And the winner is of course.... Alan Price
Karen will look after the wine until the Chippenham Open
Rod, the Maser looks great, vast improvement on the "original"
